Samsung is not just about high-end displays this year, although the ES8000 series of LED HDTVs does attract most of the attention, but also high-end home theater systems.

Samsung has two of these in line for release in 2012, namely the HT-E6500W and HT-E6730W home theater systems featuring 3D and Samsung’s own vacuum tube amplifier technology. This new technology is used to offer an amazing sound experience and it’s basically a heated cathode inside a glass bulb which amplifies sound, leading to a more clear and natural sound in comparison to the more conventional audio systems.

Samsung HT-E6730W 3D Blu-Ray Home Theater System

The Samsung HT-E6730W home theater system comes with 1330W of output power and six speakers in order to provide a superior sound experience for movie soundtracks or your favorite music.

Samsung has decided to integrate the possibility of upscaling your older content to Full HD 1080p. You’ll also be able to connect to the Internet via WiFi and enjoy online content using the Samsung Smart Hub or make use of social networking sites such as Facebook or Twitter.

Samsung HT-E6500W 3D Blu-Ray Home Theater System

On the other hand, the HT-E6500W model is a 5.1-channel home theater system, featuring two tall speakers and wireless rear-speakers that you can place comfortably anywhere you want in the room. This model outputs 1000W of power, a dual-unit passive radiator subwoofer providing a rich bass response.

Onkyo is widely known as a manufacturer of quality audio-video equipment and the company has decided to announce to new AV receivers ready to hit the market this May.

The two new AV receivers are the TX-NR717 and TX-NR818 and do not lack in high-end features. These will provide 7.2-channels of audio using Burr-Brown 192kHz/24-bit DACs as well as PLL jitter-clearing circuits, isolated pre-amp blocks and an isolated power amplifier.

What’s a AV receiver today without networking capabilities? The answer is – not a product you’d like to pay for. Both of these come with Internet Radio and music streaming capabilities as well as access to personal music collection in the cloud using MP3 Tunes. The Ethernet connection helps users connect these two devices to their home network and enjoy media from other sources, such as PCs or laptops and also to update the firmware periodically.

Both of these AV receivers from Onkyo come with a Qdeo processor that’s meant to handle all up scaling tasks and you’ll also get no more than 8 HDMI ports offering 3D support and high-definition codec support.

Both the Onkyo TX-NR717 and TX-NR818 are THX Select 2 Plus certified devices and feature an updated 1080p user interface. Onkyo has added the possibility of remote controlling these two devices with the aid of an Android smartphone with the aid of a Android Remote App and there are also plans for iOS and Kindle Fire variants in order to extend compatibility with other devices you may own already.

The Onkyo TX-NR717 AV Receiver will cost $999 while the TX-NR818 will cost $1,119. Both of these will be released in May.

Panasonic is not just about high-end displays this year but also adds a few new Blu-Ray players to its slew of home theater products for 2012.

The company showcased its Blu-Ray player line-up back in January at the CES and some of these new models have recently become available for purchase.

Of course, the flagship WT50 LED and VT50 Plasma TV models were the point of attraction at the show in Las Vegas, but if you want a device that complements one of these two high-end displays, you can’t go wrong with one of the four 3D Blu-Ray player models brought forward this year by Panasonic.

Panasonic DMP-BBT01 3D Blu-Ray Player

Panasonic has six new Blu-Ray players, four coming with 3D capabilities and Smart features, while the lower-end models feature only 2D content playback but still keep the Smart features.

The four new 3D Blu-Ray player models all come with Panasonic’s newly enhanced VIERA Connect IPTV platform, offering Internet connectivity and access to popular Internet Streaming content services such as HULU, Netflix, Vudu, CinemaNow or YouTube. If you opt for a 2D Blu-Ray player model, you’ll still get access to these streaming services through the IP VOD1 service.

The 3D Blu-Ray player models coming in 2012 from Panasonic are the BBT01, BDT500, BDT320 and BDT220 and none of them lack top-of-the-line technology and high-end features.

If you end up choosing one of these four Blu-Ray players, you’ll get an improved UniPhier chip processor, VIERA Connect platform, 24p output for VOD, FLAC compatibility and 192Hz/32bit Audio DAC.

Further more, you’ll be able to convert your old 2D collection to 3D with the 2D-to-3D upconversion feature and smartphone control capability by installing a free app coming for both iOS and Android.

Panasonic DMP-BBT01 3D Blu-Ray Player

These new 3D Blu-Ray players come in an impressive slim design and as a novelty you’ll be able to find a slot-in drive with the BBT01 and BDT320 models without using a conventional tray system. The BBT01 throws even more into the equation and introduces a new design concept with greatly reduced size that can be placed either horizontally or vertically.

Panasonic DMP-BDT220 3D Blu-Ray Player

The Panasonic BDT220 is the last model in the company's 3D-enabled Blu-Ray player line for 2012. This one keeps the UniPhier chip, 24p VOD output, smartphone remote control, 2D-to-3D conversion, DLNA compatibility and the enhanced VIERA connect platform. Users can convert the 2D Internet streaming content to 3D using the Viera Connect and 2D-to-3D upconversion feature.

The BDT220 lacks the low-power consumption through the Smart Eco Sensor, the 7.1 channel compatibility and the Touch Pad Remote control available in the higher-end models but you’ll still get a high-quality Blu-Ray player with 3D capabilities nonetheless.

LG came up with an impressive collection of brand new displays to be released this year, including a 55-inch OLED TV and a 84-inch 4K LED LCD HDTV.

The company has a history of releasing high-end products on the HDTV market, so these two displays were most likely meant to attract the attention to the company’s Plasma and LED LCD line-up for this year. LG brings a slew of new displays this year that are meant to compete on the market with products from companies like Samsung, Panasonic or Sony.

LG 2012 High-end HDTVs

If you’re looking for a quality display and have no budget limit you could take a look at the LG 55EM9600 OLED TV. This is one of the first OLED panels to be available for purchase and has made a lasting impression on anyone visiting the Consumer Electronic Show in January.

LG 55EM9600 OLED HDTV

The LG 55EM9600 OLED display is just 4mm in thickness and comes with Full HD resolution as well as 3D capabilities. The 2D 1080p resolution is handled by what LG calls this year the Triple XD engine, which is meant to take care of three things, as the name suggests. LG’s Triple XD Engine will optimize contrast, upscale resolution for 2D content and enhance colors (Color Refiner). LG claims that the 55EM9600 comes with a 100,000,000:1 contrast ratio.

LG’s 55EM9600 OLED display features 3D capabilities, as any self-respecting, high-end display on the market in 2012. What’s impressive about the 3D side of things is that the 55EM9600 has a refresh rate of 0.1 microseconds. This translates into virtually no motion blur during fast moving/action scenes encountered in movies, amazing image clarity as well as enhanced colors.

The design is truly impressive with the 55EM9600. In addition to being a super thin panel, as you’d expect from an OLED TV, this one weighs only 7.5Kg.

The LG 55EM9600 OLED HDTV will become available all over the world in April/May this year and will be dubbed LG EM960V in UK.

LG 84LM9600 4K Passive 3D HDTV

The LG 55EM9600 OLED panel is not the only high-end display release for this year. If you are looking for a giant HDTV this year and again, have no budget limits, you can put this one on your shopping list.

The LG 84LM9600 is a LED backlit HDTV offering 4K (3,840 x 2,160 resolution) instead of the usual 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution as most HDTVs this year. This means you can couple it with Sony's BDP-S790 Blu-Ray Player also to be released this Spring and enjoy 4K upconversion of your usual 2D content.

LG’s 84LM9600 LED LCD HDTV is also a 3D-enabled display featuring passive 3D technology and offering Full HD vertical 1080p resolution. That means you’ll be able to enjoy 3D content without using active shutter glasses.

People have always looked to Panasonic to bring the highest quality panels and for the first time, this year, the company ventured into the realm of large screen LCD-based displays.

Panasonic has avoided making large-screen LCD HDTVs like these because the company didn’t want costumers to take their eyes of the company’s Plasma displays and offer a more affordable solution.

This year, it seems that Panasonic has changed the strategy so instead of pushing their quality, yet pricey Plasma TVs, the company has decided to launch its own series in order to bring some competition on the LCD LED TV market offering three new LCD TV series, which have been dubbed WT50, DT50 and ET50.

So, if you’re looking for Panasonic quality in a LCD LED TV, you’ll be able to find it this year, in the form of five 47-inch models and three 55-inch models, coming with all the goodies a 2012 TV should have.

Panasonic WT50 3D LED LCD Series

Leading the pack in 2012 is the WT50 series of LED LCD displays. Panasonic has decided to equip the WT50 displays with an IPS panel and 1600Hz backlight scanning that’s able to reduce motion resolution.

The WT50 displays are LED backlit, feature active-shutter 3D capabilities and 2D-to-3D conversion, while the Smart capabilities are handled by a dual-core Pro4 processor that can also handle multitasking. The sound quality was also a point of interest with the WT50 series as these three models come with 8-Train speakers.

The Smart TV platform has been improved further this year and you’ll be able to enjoy an enhanced version of Panasonic’s Viera Connect IPTV via the built-in WiFi.

The design is truly appealing as you can see from the photo and the WT50 models feature a “Super Narrow” metal frame and a grey Crescent Stand that lend a classic yet stylish look.

The WT50 LED LCD series features three new models ranging from 42 to 55 inches in screen size. These have been dubbed TX-L42WT50, TX-L47WT50 and TX-L55WT50.

Panasonic DT50 3D LED LCD Series

The DT50 series is not that different in comparison to the WT50.

The features are pretty much the same for the two models in the DT50 line: you'll find an IPS panel with LED backlight and 1920 backlight as with the the WT50.

There’s a slight difference in design though, as the DT50 has been equipped with a different stand and a wider metal frame.

You will also be able to enjoy 3D content with the DT50, as well as 2D-to-3D conversion and 8-Train speaker that enable the two DT50 models to deliver 3D Real Sound.

The Smart TV capabilities are present as well through the built-in WiFi feature. There's no touchpad remote coming with the DT50 unfortunately.

Samsung’s entry-level LED TV models have already started showing up online, however if you also want top-notch sound quality with your Samsung HDTV you’d better take a look at these two new sound bars coming this Spring.

Samsung has proudly showcased these two sound bars back in January at the CES but hasn’t released too many details about them. We now know that these two have been dubbed HT-E8200, coming with 3D Blu-Ray playback, Smart TV features and a wireless subwoofer, while the lower end model is called HW-E550 and can be split in two and mounted on both sides of your HDTV.

Samsung HT-E8200 Sound Bar

The Samsung E8200 sound bar is the superior model of the two and has been made to complement HDTVs stating at 46-inches in screen size. The HT-E8200 is pretty nice looking and comes in a black plastic casing and glossy finish.

You’ll be able to enjoy and immersive and powerful sound experience and can let out 400W of power aided by a wireless subwoofer that you can place wherever you want.

What’s special about the HT-E8200 sound bar is that it comes with 3D Blu-Ray playback and Smart TV capabilities. Instead of opting for a new Blu-Ray player this year, you could just get the HT-E8200 and enjoy pretty much the same features coming in a slim package, that perfectly complements you large screen display.

The Smart TV platform includes Smart Hub and Samsung apps and there’s the AllShare feature that can help you push any media from your smartphone or tablet to the HT-E8200 sound bar and enjoy it on the flat screen.

The Samsung HT-E8200 sound bar comes with two HDMI ports for connectivity and ARC (audio return channel) that enables users to control the volume using their HDTV’s remote control.

Samsung HW-E550 Sound Bar

The second sound bar coming from Samsung has been dubbed HW-E550 and is much more about sound than anything else. Samsung has designed the HW-E550 so that you’d be able to mount it horizontally on your wall or vertically, on both sides of your screen.

You’ll get everything you need so you can mount this one comfortably on your wall. The HW-E550 sound bar has been equipped with Bluetooth that enables you to push media from handheld devices directly to your own Samsung sound bar, while connectivity options include and USB port and two HDMI inputs.

This one also gets an wireless subwoofer that you can place anywhere you want without worrying about wires coming in and out of your sound bar all over the place.

These two new sound bars will become available in the Spring, most likely, after all the displays in Samsung’s 2012 line-up. No pricing information has been released at this time.

Last year, Panasonic’s VT30 line of flagship Plasma TVs was a resounding success and many reviewers have praised the line for the top notch quality it had to bring to the table, raising the bar for other companies as well.

In 2012, Panasonic’s flagship line is called VT50, which is a bit of a surprise, as the 2010 model was named VT25 and the 2011 was named VT30. The name doesn’t bother us that much, because the quality of these new displays in Panasonic’s Viera VT50 line is undeniable and comes packed in only two models, measuring 55 and 65-inches in screen size.

Panasonic VT50 3D Plasma TV Series

The Panasonic Viera VT50 series is the flagship line from the company in 2012 and is proudly sitting in the front of other six series coming this year.

There are only two models in this line, namely the Panasonic VIERA TC-P55VT50 and the TC-P65VT50. Both of these new displays come with the best picture quality making use of the 1080p Full HD resolution as well as the 3D capabilities, in order to offer an improved home theater experience in 2012.

Both the TC-P55VT50 and the TC-P65VT50 come with the new and improved Infinite Black Ultra Panel/NeoPlasma Black 2500 technology and THX certification for both 2D and 3D alike. You’ll be able to find 2D-to-3D upconversion with these new models and ISFccc Calibration Mode, used in order to offer the complete package and the best cinema experience.

The quality of the picture is stunning indeed, but there is more to these two VT50 models. Both of them feature Smart capabilities that connect to your home network via the built-in WiFi and come with an improved Viera Connect interface that lets users interact with friends and family or browse the Internet while watching TV.

Panasonic ST50 3D Plasma TV Series

Panasonic ST50 series brings high quality to the table and not just in terms of picture quality but in terms of sound as well.

Panasonic has dedicated the ST50 series entirely to sound quality by adding the “3D real sound” feature with the aid of 8-train speakers. If that's not enough, you could consider one of Panasonic's sound bars for this year. The ST50 panel is self illuminated without using lead or mercury that pollutes the environment.

The company guarantees 100,000 hours lifespan and improved black levels, leading to superior image quality.

Samsung brings top notch displays every year and showcases them in January at the CES. This year was no different as the South Korean giant unveiled its Plasma TV series and 3D LED series at the Consumer Electronics Show.

If you were a visitor at the CES, it was almost impossible to miss these new LED displays featuring 3D capabilities and coming in a gorgeous design.

The display that attracted the most attention was the flagship ES8000 model, bringing top notch quality and an improved design in comparison to last year's models from the company.

The ES8000 is truly a quality 3D LED TV, but if you're looking for something more affordable this year, you can't go wrong with Samsung's ES7500, ES7100, ES6500, ES6100, EH6000 and EH5300 LED TV series for 2012.

Samsung ES8000 3D LED TV Series

The ES8000 is Samsung’s flagship series in 2012 and if you happened to pass by the company’s stand at the CES it was almost impossible to miss it. Samsung promises that the ES8000 models are more than just gorgeous design, but also bring with them top notch image quality and best of all, the possibility of an upgrade.

Probably the most appealing feature coming with the ES8000 series is that the models in this line can be upgraded next year and brought up-to-date with the latest technology on the market. This is possible due to Samsung’s Evolution Kit, a slot on the back of your ES8000 LED model that can be replaced and enabling you to own all the latest technology next year, without purchasing a new Samsung HDTV.

The Samsung ES8000 models are all Smart TVs bringing 3D capabilities and the latest technology for superior image quality.

The ES8000 models all come with Internet connectivity that enables users to access Internet Streaming Services such as Netflix, Pandora, HULU and many others or extend its functionality with the Samsung Apps.

You will be able to video conference with your friends and family through Skype as the ES8000 models all feature a built-in webcam.

Samsung’s ES8000 series comes with no more than five models, ranging from 46-inches to 75 inches in size.

You can read more about Samsung's ES8000 flagship LED TV series.

Samsung ES7500 3D LED TV Series

Further down the line there’s the ES7500 series which is not that different from the flagship ES8000. It comes with all the goodies brought by the flagship range in the first place, however what Samsung calls "Ultimate Micro Dimming" in the ES8000, in the ES7500 line is called simply "Micro Dimming". This technology is used by Samsung to dim and brighten certain areas of the screen and improve contrast and brightness levels.

The Samsung ES7500 series also features Smart TV capabilities and other great innovations for 2012 such as gesture and voice control, thanks to the built-in webcam. You will be able to interact with your HDTV like never before thanks to these features.

The ES7500 models are all 3D enabled, they feature a 960Hz refresh rate and built-in WiFi for connectivity to your home network. Upon purchase you’ll also get two pairs of shutter glasses and these models are about $300 cheaper than the ES8000 models.

The ES7500 design is slightly different as as you can see from the photos, these come with a more conventional stand and you’ll still be able to enjoy the 0.2-inch ultra slim bezel.

LG has prepared a surprise for those people and announces two new HDD recorders for the European market, coming this Spring.

The flagship HDD recorder model from LG this year is the LG HR925D while the second one is a lower end model - the HR825T.

The LG HR925D features a bult-in 500GB HDD and is able playback almost any video format right now. It comes with built-in dual tuners and support for both 2D and 3D Blu-Ray discs, as well as more common digital platforms like DVD and CD.

The LG HR925D HDD recorder comes with Smart capabilities and users will be able to use the LG Smart 2.0 platform and TV apps, including DLNA and SmartShare or play media from other USB enabled devices you may own.

You will still get the 500GB HDD included with the HR825T, as well as the remote app for your iDevice.

LG's HR925D and HR825T HDD recorders will most likely hit the market sometime in the Spring 2012. No pricing information has been released at this time.
