Sharp has just announced a new addition to its AQUOS line of LCD TVs, coming in the form of a brand new 70-inch display for the Japanese market.
The Sharp AQUOS LC-70Q7 LCD TV comes with a large, 70-inch LED backlit display making it perfect for watching movies in a hom theater environment.
Sharp has equipped this one with a WTuner and USB in case you intend to record TV content on a USB hard drive. There’s also DLNA connectivity with other compatible devices in your home and you can expect this one to cost around 550,000 Yen (~$6,900).
Sharp Elite PRO-60X5FD and PRO-70X5FD LED LCD HDTVs announced
Sharp is getting ready to launch two new large screen HDTVs under the Elite brand. Sharp has partnered with Pioneer to produce the new Elite models – PRO-60X5FD and PRO-70X5FD coming in 60 and 70-inch screen sizes respectively coming with the highest image quality and latest technologies available on the market.
The Elite LED LCD HDTVs comes with RGB+Y technology, like Sharp’s own Quattron, adding a yellow sub-pixel to the standard red/green/blue color palette to produce a much broader range of color and creates higher brightness using less power and more accurately depicts vivid yellows and vibrant golds. RGB+Y technology makes possible Precision Color Plus, four sub-pixels composed of smaller dots, creating more than 8 million dots per screen for a much smoother, more appealing detailed image. The Elite TVs also includes Intelligent Variable Contrast technology that works with all of the other Elite technologies to automatically control brightness and backlight to create depth of color, brilliance, detail and dark areas. You can also expect Full Array LED backlight with Local Dimming, and FluidMotion for 240Hz smooth motion.
The Elite HDTVs are 3D-capable and comes with two sets of active shutter 3-D glasses. They are THX, THX 3D Display and ISF certified. The PRO-60X5FD andPRO-70X5FD both have built-in WiFi connectivity and supports video streaming services such as Netflix, VUDU and CinemaNow. The former is priced at $5999.99 and the latter at $8499,99.
Toshiba REGZA 32BC3 HDTV features power-saving option

Toshiba is coming forward with a new addition to its REGZA line of HDTVs. The company has equipped the new Toshiba 32BC3 with a power-saving option that will definetly make some people very happy.
The 32BC3 is an eco-friendly HDTV coming in a 32-inches screen size and an unuasual resolution for today’s HDTVs. This one comes with a 1366 x 768 resolution, that you would more likely find in your PC monitor than your HDTV. However, this resolution aids the REGZA 32BC3 in its power-saving endeavour. This HDTV is capable of reducing brightness-level without compromising image quality and this is actually a great thing.
Pressing the Power-Saving button on your remote control will drop the brightness level to 50%, while a second press of the same button will drop the brightness to 75%, thus saving a whole lot of energy.
All in all, the Toshiba REGZA 32BC3 is well worth its $830 price if you think about how much money you’ll save on your power bill.
Westinghouse W47S2TCD – first passive 3D TV from the company

Westinghouse steps up to the plate and releases the company’s first 3D TV, the 47-inch W47S2TCD model featuring passive 3D technology. Westinghouse has also announced a new Smart TV bringing Vudu and Netflix access in the form of the WC-462ST.
The Westinghouse W47S2TCD uses cheap polarized glasses and passive 3D technology. Full HD, 6ms response time and features the DayBright light sensor for automatic adjustment to the lighting conditions of a room.
The Westinghouse WC-4625T is an Internet connected TV featuring Vudu and Netflix access, LED backlight, 6.5 response time and an audio chip from Yamaha.
You will soon be able to find the W47S2TCD 3D TV in online stores for $1199.

Hammacher LED TV comes with a built-in DVD player

Hammacher has just introduced a new 15.5-inch LCD TV with LED-backlight to the online store. The interesting thing about this small display however, is the built-in DVD player. The LED technology used to backlight this LCD display provides improved contrast ratio, deeper blacks and faster refresh rates than your regular LCD display. Sony releases firmware update for the Bravia HX929

Sony has just announced a new firmware update for the HX929 model which reportedly adds Media Remote, Skype capabilities, Audio Theater Control Widget and a few more features that will improve your experience with Sony’s flagship HX929 models.
The firmware update for the HX929 will also add the ability of 3D content streaming through an Internet connection. The Sony BRAVIA HX929 comes in three models the XBR-46HX929, XBR-55HX929 and XBR-65HX929 ranging from 46 to 65-inches and are now available for purchase on amazon.com
Sharp LE430 and SH330 budget HDTV ranges

Sharp is planning to announce its entire HDTV line-up pretty soon. The company has announced the new LE430 and SH330 budget HDTVs which are now ready to hit the market.
The Sharp LE430 range features small screen sizes as well as a slim profile, but best of all the range is budget friendly. The LE430 range includes digital tuners for its models, two HDMI inputs, Edge LED, DivX support, PC Input and USB playback. All of these at a low cost and screen sizes measuring 19, 22 ,26 and 32 inches.
The Sharp SH330 on the other hand, is a budget friendly line of HDTVs coming in 26, 32 and 42 inches.
Sharp has mentioned digital tuners coming with these models as well as 3 HDMI inputs, USB port with image, video and music support and PC VGA input to use these inexpensive HDTVs as monitors.
The Sharp SH330 will be available in 26 and 32 inches, while the 42-inch model has been announced for May.
Sharp LE430 range has also been announced to make its appearenace in May.
Samsung D9500 75-inch 3D LED TV
Samsung has just announced their new 3D LCD TV by the name of D9500. The D9500 is a 3D LCD TV with LED backlight and impresses with a whooping 75-inches in screen size. Bad news is that you will still need to wear active shutter 3D glasses to view the next 3D movie, as this display is based in active 3D technology.
The panel features 1080p and a 240-Hz refresh rate as well as edge lighting. The Smart TV features are also present with the D9500 which will allow users to connect wirelessly to the Internet to browse websites, make Skype video calls or take advantage of the growing range of Samsung apps available right now.
The company plans to sell the D9500 for $17,600, just in Korea for now.
Sharp Freestyle AQUOS LC-20FE1 WiFi Portable TV

Sharp has announced new models in its AQUOS line of portable LCD TVs. The first model to be released as part of the Freestyle AQUOS Portable LCD TV line is the 20-inch LC-20FE1. The Sharp LC-20FE1 is a 20-inch LCD display coming with a 1366×767 resolution, 400,000:1 contrast ratio, LED-backlight and is equipped with 2x4W speakers.
The Sharp Freestyle AQUOS LC-20FE1 also features a wireless digital TV tuner so you can take your TV with you anywhere you go. The onboard WiFi will allow users access to online content from media streaming services. The portable AQUOS Freestyle LCD TV models are also equipped with DLNA, HDMI port, USB and LAN.
Sharp’s Freestyle AQUOS LC-20FE1 will reportedly be available in pink, white and black colors and will be in stores by the 1st of June 2011.
